I work in the high-value storage department at Parts Express. Here, we handle our valuable shipments, such as audio and navigation systems and license plates. We call these packages “specials” on the work floor. My workday starts at 6 p.m., so it’s actually more of a night shift. First, I count and scan all the valuable items that have come in and sign them off on my receipt list. Then I sort everything into the different routes we drive. After midnight, the drivers arrive. They scan the valuable items they load and sign for receipt with me. Once the driver has signed, he is responsible. My working day ends at 3 a.m.

No one can just walk in, and I check very carefully what goes in and what comes out. I make sure everything is correct by constantly checking the stock and shipping lists. This ensures that the items are delivered to the dealer safely and neatly.

I started working at Parts Express in this position 5.5 years ago. And I still enjoy working here. I like working at night, partly because I have great colleagues. All the drivers come by me and I always have a chat with them.
