What does your work involve?
‘I ensure that our crucial work processes run smoothly. Whether we receive all goods on time, the team works efficiently, the drivers leave on schedule. Anything that doesn’t run smoothly on the work floor ends up on my desk. I have to come up with ad hoc solutions for those situations. I always manage to do that, and the team keeps running smoothly.’

What motivates you?
‘I am a doer; I want to make myself useful. My years of experience in logistics come in handy here. I quickly get an overview of the work and know how to make it more practical. For example, sorting sometimes ran late. The floor was so full that you could barely walk. So I marked out areas on the floor with tape where goods could be placed. This immediately created a better overview and the team worked more efficiently. A simple solution is often the best!

What makes Parts Express special?
‘Parts Express has the allure of an international player, but at the same time it’s just a family business where everyone knows each other. The work is professionally organized, but not too rigidly defined. There is room for down-to-earth thinking, and there is an atmosphere of rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in. I really feel that we are doing this together.’
