Vacancy: Operator Sorting Street (Evening/Night)

Parts Express, part of Yusen Logistics Benelux, specializes in the overnight distribution of time-critical shipments. For our cross-dock location in Vianen, we are looking for a driven and structured professional who will take full responsibility for our sorting line, which has been running successfully for over a year.

The role:
As Sorting Line Operator, you are the key figure in executing and coordinating our nightly sorting process. You work closely with the supervisor, process lead, and a team of approximately 11 temporary workers to ensure that incoming and outgoing freight flows are handled smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Start your shift with an inspection round of the sorting line using a checklist.
• Ensure that the working environment around the line is clean, organized, and fully set up.
• Coordinate the required staffing levels with the process lead.
• Provide instructions to and supervise temporary workers; monitor performance and make adjustments where necessary.
• Oversee both inbound and outbound goods moving through the sorting line.
• Ensure that the correct goods are fed into the system at the right time and in the right way.
• Identify and process shipments without scannable information or with incorrect labels in the TMS system.
• Guarantee a scan success rate of at least 98% for all processed goods.
• Deploy available staff to other areas within the cross-dock after sorting is completed (ready at 00:00).
• Provide support to planning after sorting, including communication with drivers.
• Evaluate the shift daily together with the supervisor and process lead and report to the network manager.

Your profile:

• An affinity with logistics.
• Mature.
• Strong communication skills and a hands-on mentality.
• Willing to work evening and night shifts (start time 18:00).
• Physically capable of lifting and moving goods when necessary.
• Forklift certificate is a plus, not a requirement.
• Good command of the Dutch language (required) and English.
• Confident in taking charge of and providing direction to temporary workers.
